Belle Kitchen
Cheryl Davenport, a former biology teacher and self-taught baker opened up Belle Kitchen in 2015 with executive chef Shelby Sieg. What was once a popular shop at the local farmer’s market became a beloved brick and mortar. News traveled fast and the accolades kept coming. Buzzfeed and the Travel Channel named them Best Doughnut in Oklahoma and they rank as a top-10 bakery in the entire state. You’ll find many great doughnut options, in addition to some incredible macarons that look as if they were made for royalty.
Chef's Note
Belle Kitchen prides themselves on making everything from scratch. The macarons are made in-house and made by hand. This allows them to create amazing flavors and colors.
Experience
Our experiences at Belle Kitchen was positive. The area is extremely spacious and has a nice rustic vibe to it. The space was clean, well lit and the staff was nice. The atmosphere was very neighborhood-bakery like, as if it was telling us to slow the eff down and enjoy some doughnuts. We were excited to try the doughnuts and the sexy looking macarons … unfortunately the macarons were thinned out by the time we arrived. Nonetheless, we buckled our chinstraps and dove in.

Appearance
One of the best things about the Belle Kitchen macaron is how freakin attractive they are. Their colors and designs make them edible works of art. Beyond design, their macarons have a smooth dome top with a nice eggshell crust. They also have ideal macaron size and colorful filling between the cookies.
Touch
The macarons are light and slightly delicate. They eggshell-like crust of the cookie cracks with just a small amount of pressure — which is means it’s done right.
Smell
Because this is more of a meringue-based confection, there isn’t much of a smell. The toe-curling experience is left for the eyes and taste buds.
Taste
When you bite into a macaron you want a slight crunch on the shell but an angelic soft and chewy texture on the inside. At Bell Kitchen they got that part down pat. At first bite, the macarons outer shell gives way to its pillowy interior without any resistance. The cookie almost melts in your mouth and the flavors are soft but not outstanding. We enjoyed the texture of the macarons but we were hoping there would be a little more filling inside the cookie. As it stands, the overall flavor and texture of the macarons were very good and we wouldn’t hesitate to order them again … on our cheat day.
What to Tell Your Friends
Wonderfully crafted, aesthetically pleasing macaron with ideal texture and good flavors. These beauts would be a hit for any occasion, bro.
