Chef's Note

Smile uses Maldon sea salt in their cookies, as Maldon salt is uniquely and irregularly-shaped, making them look great and gives them a nice crunch. They also use Guittard chocolates out of California.

Experience

Smile to Go is a smaller restaurant designed more for takeout. It’s fast paced and great for a quick bite. The restaurant is clean with decent seating. The staff is polite but won’t give you the warm and fuzzies. We enjoy this place and many locals do too.

Appearance

The cookie is medium to large and flat like a traditional chocolate chip cookie. The color is wonderfully golden with luscious dark chocolate saucers and sprinkles of salt flakes on top. The cookie is so attractive you won’t want to wait to sink your teeth into it.

Touch

The cookie has a smooth exterior with a firm, crispy edge. To the touch, the cookie is mostly soft with a buttery feel. The weight is dense and confirms the cookie means business.

Smell

You smell the light, buttery aroma with a sweet sugary fragrance and dark chocolate venting from its crust. The smell is an intoxicating cookie from grandma’s house.
