About: Stuffed
Jackie Luu and Alan Yaung are the owners of Stuffed Ice Cream and the creators of the “Cruff.” The Cruff is, by definition, a perfectly toasted, glazed donut stuffed with your ice cream flavor & toppings of choice. In addition to their staple “Cruffs” they also offer a Bouquet of ice cream scoops. You can get as many as 21 scoops of ice cream on one cone! This work of art is every definition of cool and will set Instagram ablaze. If you’re not into an avalanche of ice cream then try any one of the Cruff flavors. Unicorn Poop and Cookie Road are great options but Cereal Killer and Tea Party aren’t far behind. The best part about Stuffed Ice cream is the ice cream itself and the great photos you get from them. The homemade doughnut is a little dry which takes away from the overall Cruff experience. Nevertheless, the shop makes for a fun experience with good ice cream.
Chef's Note
Stuffed knows all about social media and uses it to their advantage. They encourage you to take pictures of their brightly-colored creations and show it off to the world.
Experience
Our experience was very positive. The staff was nice and offered up suggestions. The shop was a mostly clean. The tables had ice cream on them and floors was a little messy. It seemed as if we came in after a larger, messier group left. Overall, the location is warm and welcoming.
Review
Appearance
The Cruff, depending on your creation, looks great. The color varieties in addition to your choice of ice cream looks downright stunning. Add in the house-made glazed doughnut and you get a brilliantly-crafted ice cream creation.
Touch
The doughnut is slightly firm to the touch, but mostly it’s a marvelous mess of gooey glaze and frozen cream. It has some good weight and makes for a serious ice cream sandwich.
Smell
The Cruff doesn’t do much for your sense of smell. The glazed doughnut smells fresh and sweet while the ice cream gives off frozen vapors.
Taste
There are a few ways to go about eating the Cruff. You can use a utensil, you can use the paper provided or you can go all hamburger and use your hands. We did the latter. The first bite was a perfect portion of doughnut and ice cream. It was every bit of soft, sweet and cold. The ice cream is a hit. The flavors are all good and won’t disappoint. The glazed doughnut was a bit of a disappointment. It was dry and lacked a really good glazed-doughnut flavor. Even though the doughnut takes away from the Cruff as a whole, the entire creation has plenty of flavor and texture to make for a solid cheat-day treat.
What to Tell Your Friends
An ice cream creation made with your imagination. The doughnut is a little dry but the entire production taste good and looks great on camera.
